Final Capstone Day

Today was my presentation, and I feel that it went really good. It wasn't that nervous at all, I just wanted to get through it as soon as possible. The last couple of days I spent revising my model and fixing small details. My powerpoint was very detail and by the feedback that I got, they were really impressed by it. After all of this, I feel like some of my skills got improved along the way. My time management skills werent 100 percent in the beginning, but these last two weeks I feel like I was able to manage my time well. What I am taking from this, is to not wait till the last minute to do research and use resources avaliable.

I have continued working on my Revit Model and it seems that I am almost done with it. I redesign my rain garden so it could include plants native to the Northwest and Oregon. I have also inserted my parking lot.
As you can see from this picture I have include about 4
different types of plants and like 2 different types of trees. Behind in the parking lot is Butler's beetle

Today I spent part of the day finishing my research paper but i also found out some materials i could use. For my bathroom I found this sustainable toilet but the minus part of it is that it costs around 3,000 dollars. I also decided on what flooring material for my building. The main part will be hardwood flooring and also the arcade. The bathrooms will have ceramic tiling.

Today in capstone I worked on my paper and reach 200 words. I also kept on working on my revit design and with the help of a buddy I was able to create a flat roof. I added the materials to the walls and next time I would insert the flooring materials.

Today I redid my outline and added more to my research paper. I also worked on my Revit design. I had trouble creating a soccer field in family, but now I got a hang of it. It was kinda weird using Revit after not using it for such a long time. Next time I blog hopefully more of my Revit design is done, so I can move on to my model.

Today I worked on my thesis statement and on my outline. I changed what my thesis statement said so that I was coherent with the problem I am trying to solve. For my outline I reorganized it so wasn't all over. I start with stating what are the problems and why they are problems. Then my next section is how my solutions will help solving the problems.

Today I worked on my outline for my final paper. I have a total of about 8 paragraphs. I structure it so I can show a problem and then I can offer solutions to it. And also there are paragraphs for me to talk about how I got my ideas from journal articles.

Rose Garden

So yesterday all the students whose capstone was related to designing sports arenas took a field trip to the Rose Garden. It was sick, we got to go to places regular fans don't have access to. We went all the way up until we were about 20 ft from the roof. That was sketchy, you look down and almost peed in your pants. Also Scott told us how much energy the have saved and that they are LEED certified Gold, first for an sports arena in the world. Overall the trip was very informative and enterntaining.

Today I started designed my final floorplan. After laying it out I found out that if I included the 3 fields tha I originally wanted, my soccer center would be to big. So I redrew it and only included 1 field. Now I am  drawing each room by itself and then cut then so I can determine a final layout

ideas for my indoor

So i was searching the net when i got the idea of including a futsal pitch. A futsal pitch is just basically a wooden floor. Now not only will my indoor center serve soccer, flag football, lacrosse but also basketball. So I guess that it is not an indoor soccer center no more but a multi-sport complex.
